Our Story

We used to be a… hairpin factory!

Embracing local culture and history is important to us.

That's why the Hairpin House brand has such an incredible story, all inspired by the hairpin factory that stood before us.

Kirby Beard & Co. Ltd. of Birmingham made hairpins similar to the bobby pin. The famous pin became known as the ‘Kirbigrip.

The highly successful enterprise then went on to become the maker of many prestigious pieces of jewellery.

Throughout our building you’ll find incredible bespoke art, from posters and signs to giant neon lights. Created just for Hairpin House.

We’ve also kept some of the original artefacts on display in the main reception area.
