Discover
Salford and
Manchester

Sitting alongside River Irwell and Crescent Conservation Area, Oldfield Wharf makes the ideal home for those seeking naturally beautiful urban living within one of the Manchester's most sought after boroughs.

Epic spaces

We're bored of boring. That's why we made Oldfield Wharf.

It started with a canal ...

Where canal met the city

In the late 1700s, the Manchester, Bolton & Bury Canal cut through Salford, creating the Oldfield Road Basin with its busy wharves and warehouses handling coal and goods for the growing town.

A canal-side community grows

By the early 1800s, the Oldfield Road canal terminus was at the heart of new streets around Chapel Street and Gaythorn Street. The canal’s extension to the River Irwell strengthened trade links and encouraged housing and industry to grow along its banks, laying the foundations for the community that followed.

“It’s very colourful in the communal areas which is a change from the usual depressing greyness you see with other developments as new as this one.”

“I arrived from Hong Kong for the first time with our two dogs and not knowing much about the renting system in the UK, I can never forget how reassuring the staff sounded on the phone.”
